Traton Homes office to host cotillion and etiquette classes.

Those living in the Cobb County new homes near the Traton Homes office at the corner of Tower Road and Kennesaw Avenue are about to have access to a new class. That’s because Marietta resident, Catherine Sanders, is choosing our offices as the location to hold her cotillion and etiquette classes.

Classes begin in September and go through April, and are designed to teach students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades manners and character as well as how to interact in certain social situations. It’s a service that was missing in the Marietta area and one that is getting a little help from a big supporter, Google.

Google in partnership with Intuit Sitebuilder is offering Georgia businesses a free website, free online tools, training and resources to help give local businesses an online presence. The Social Class is a participating business, and has recently introduced its new website. If you too have a local business that is in need of a website, then you can still get a free website, domain name and web hosting for one year by visiting the Georgia Get Your Business Online website. Traton Homes Providence Home Plan

Providence Home Plan at Paper Chase Farm

You’ve turned your clocks forward, so that means it’s time to take advantage of the extra sunshine and warmer temperatures, and give your home the TLC it’s been missing over the winter months. Before the spring rains, warmer weather and bugs hit, there are a few easy things you should do for your Atlanta home to keep it energy efficient and performing at and looking its best. As a top Atlanta home builder, we know just what you need to do to keep your home in tip top shape, and we’ve offered some suggestions below:

  • The last thing you want to happen is to finally crank on the A/C next month – when that first surprisingly warm Atlanta weekend hits – only to find nothing come on and it’ll be a week before you can get a repairman to the house. Get your air conditioner checked out by a qualified HVAC contractor now to make sure that the system is running efficiently. Before the contractor comes out, you can do a little maintenance on your own by suctioning out any debris from your condensation line with a wet vac. Read More→

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day Near Your Marietta New Homes

Saint Patrick’s Day. We wear our finest green clothes and (some of us) hit the pub, but what is this holiday really all about? Here at Traton Homes, we were wondering so we did a little research for you.

Held the 17th of March, the holiday commemorates Saint Patrick; the most commonly recognized patron saint of Ireland, and the arrival of Christianity in the country. Saint Patrick was born in Roman Britain in the fourth century, into a wealthy, Christian family. When he was just 16 years old, he was kidnapped by Irish raiders and taken captive to Ireland as a slave. While there, he was told by God in a dream to flee to the coast, which he did, where he then boarded a ship and returned to Britain. Upon his return, he quickly began studies to become a priest. Several decades later, he returned to Ireland as a bishop, where he worked to Christianize the polytheistic Irish.

While originally a religious holiday, Saint Patrick’s Day has gradually become a secular celebration of Irish culture in general. Celebrations include displays of the color green, feasting and drinking, parades and religious observances. And even though it isn’t a legal holiday in the U.S., we’ve been celebrating St. Patrick’s Day since the late eighteenth century here. Read More→

Springtime in Atlanta is the best; and for those living in one of the many luxury homes Atlanta has offer, you’ll find that there are unlimited opportunities to get out and enjoy yourself without having to travel far.

The city is probably best known for its spring festivals. The Dogwood Festival at Piedmont Park is one of Atlanta’s most popular festivals. Now in its 76th year, the Dogwood Festival includes an artist market, music, disc dog competition, International Village and high school art exhibition. This year’s festival will be April 20-22. The Inman Park Festival, April 27-29, is Atlanta’s largest street market with more than 250 booths of antiques and handcrafted wares as well as a giant arts and crafts show. The Georgia Renaissance Festival is a multi-acre re-creation of a 16th-Century European Country Faire of Tudor homes and cottages with shopping, eating and fun with nearly 1,000 colorfully costumed characters.
