Traton Homes, Cobb’s Premier Builder, Again Partners with Cobb Christmas

Collects Toys at Its Model Homes Between November 10 – December 12

Marietta, Ga. (November 8, 2017) – “Cobb County is our home, and the holidays are such a heartwarming time of the year – so it’s easy to understand why we have made it an annual tradition to support Cobb Christmas,” says Kimberly Garwood, Traton’s Director of Marketing.

Cobb Christmas is a non-profit, non-denominational organization, dedicated to helping low-income and working-poor families of Cobb County during the holiday season. The organization, fully run by volunteers, provides gifts from infants to children up to fifteen years old. Each family gets a box of food, and each child receives a minimum of three age-appropriate toys.

Traton Homes has been a long-time partner with Cobb Christmas. “For more than a decade, we’ve collected toys through company, employee, community and vendor donations. At the end of the collection period, there’s nothing more gratifying than to stuff a Cobb County Transit Bus full of toys for kids in need,” says Garwood.

In addition to collecting toys at Traton’s corporate office at 720 Kennesaw Avenue in Marietta, all of Traton’s model homes throughout metro Atlanta also serve as drop-off locations for new, unwrapped toys. Other donations, including cash and food, may be made directly to Cobb Christmas at CobbChristmas.net.

Location, Design of Walkable Townhome Community near Marietta Square and Kennestone Hospital Proves Popular

Recently, Traton Homes sold its twelfth brand-new townhome within North Square, the renowned homebuilder’s architecturally planned community of 90 two- and three-story townhomes just steps from Kennestone Hospital and walkable to the Marietta Square.

“We just opened North Square in late July, and are delighted with the enthusiastic response to our new community! North Square offers an incredible value for this location with homes priced from the $290,000s,” says Kimberly Garwood, Traton’s Director of Marketing.

“The community’s exceptional location near the Marietta Square and around the corner from the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital District, is one of the biggest draws for homebuyers. People love the endless dining and year-round entertainment options at the Square – plus the community’s easy access to I-75.”

Susan T., one of the first homeowners in North Square, agrees. “As an empty-nester, I’ve been looking for the perfect townhome off and on for five years, and am so happy to have found this beautiful new community. Not only can I walk to all of downtown Marietta’s restaurants, concerts and events, it’s also just three miles to my office, and near my doctors and my church.

“I am looking forward to an easy living lifestyle in a low maintenance, well-built home,” she continues. “Never do I have to worry any more about putting out pinestraw or mowing the lawn when it’s 90 degrees out.”

Susan appreciates the clean sleek lines and finishes of her brand-new townhome with its well-designed, bright open floorplan. “The large downstairs space flows very well, and the design throughout is so much more functional than in my original home. The generous master suite is my personal retreat, and the gleaming kitchen is a dream for someone like me who loves to cook and entertain.”

Working with the Traton team has been a delight, according to Susan. “Gene Rector is a top sales professional, and the assistance I received from Madison in the Design Center when selecting all the fixtures and finishes has been outstanding.”

Traton Featured in National Publication

Earlier this month, Builder Magazine, the national publication geared toward the residential building industry, published an in-depth story about the enduring success of Traton Homes, Cobb County’s premier new home builder. The story was also featured in its online publication, Builder.com. Traton ranks #182 on the most recent Builder 100 list with 179 closings in 2016.

Senior Associate Editor Brian Croce interviewed Executive Vice President Clif Poston together with his brother, Chris Poston, Senior Vice President, for the article that reflected on Traton’s past decades of success and focused on many new opportunities ahead. The article also highlighted Traton’s newest communities, North Square, The Registry at Marietta Square, and Woodland Parc.

As Clif notes in the article, (…) Traton has never tried to grow too quickly and prefers a ‘methodical’ approach when it comes to deal making.

“When the times were good we didn’t fly as high as some people did,” he says, adding that when the latest downturn hit, Traton wasn’t overextended with respect to land positions. “We were not stretched out on lots of low-profit deals and lots of things that were out of our wheelhouse. We were able to keep things on the road and not go under during the downturn, which is something we’re very proud of.”

Traton was founded in 1971 by brothers Milburn and Bill Poston, and has completed thousands of single family homes and townhomes, mainly throughout the greater Atlanta area.

“Given a choice, why wouldn’t you want to move into a brand-new home?” ask Kimberly Garwood, Director of Marketing with Traton Homes, the renowned homebuilder with more than 46 years of experience in the greater Atlanta area.

“Here are our seven top reasons to select a fabulous new home instead of a resale – including some reasons that might not be obvious but that can really save you time and money in the long run.”

  1. When you move into a new Traton home, there is no need to replace old carpet or light fixtures, or refresh outdated paint colors or hardware. You get to fully enjoy your brand-new home from the moment the moving truck drives off.  Traton’s beautiful brand-new homes in single-family communities like Tanglewood Preserve or The Reserve at Old Atlanta offer the latest in floor plans, style, and quality. Instead of ticking off items on your ‘to-do’ list, you get to enjoy your new home and neighborhood right away.
  2. In a new home, you get to select your own cabinetry, countertops, appliances and flooring. Your new home will reflect your style and taste – not any previous owner’s.
  3. Your new home comes with a comprehensive warranty program that includes a one-year builder warranty and an eight-year structural warranty.
  4. All your appliances are brand-new. No-one has ever burned cookies in your oven or used (or abused) your garbage disposal.
  5. Traton Homes’ heating and air systems combine high-performance energy efficiency with state-of-the-art ventilation and air filtration. Breathe easy: You and your family get to enjoy better air quality in every new Traton home.
  6. Save money on both maintenance as well as heating and cooling costs. New Traton homes that feature top quality construction materials reduce the need for ongoing maintenance and associated costs. Better insulation, including new doors and energy-efficient windows help save on heating and air conditioning costs.  As a general rule of thumb, buyers of an older home need to plan each year on spending at least 1% of the home’s purchase price to maintain it. In other words, when buying a $350,000 resale, the average costs for regular maintenance and repairs can run to $3,500 per year.
  7. Buy now and enjoy year-end tax benefits. If you are able to close by December 31, you can deduct costs such as property taxes, mortgage interest, origination points on your loan, and interest costs.

Buy New, Buy Now, Buy Here:

In Tanglewood Preserve, Traton’s picturesque community in Milton,  a few splendid new homes, situated on huge homesites, are ready for immediate move-in. The large 5-bedroom, 4.5 to 5.5 bath homes have 3-car garages, basements, stunning architectural details and fabulous outdoor living spaces. The kitchens are a chef’s delight, perfect for year-round entertaining.

In Suwanee (South Forsyth), buyers find premier living at its best in The Reserve at Old Atlanta. This desirable neighborhood with its magnificent clubhouse, pool, green space, and other stellar amenities, as well as its location in the Lambert High School district, is a great place to raise a growing family.

Top REALTOR® Carole Templeman Recommends Cobb Builder for Location, Quality, Resale Value

REALTOR® Carole Templeman, Associate Broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties, has been selling residential real estate throughout Atlanta, and especially along the city’s northern arc, for more than 30 years – and has been working with Traton Homes, Cobb County’s premier homebuilder, ever since she launched her successful career.

Traton Homes offers the level of name recognition and the quality that appeal to my clients,” says Carole, who is a certified Relocation Specialist and Fine Homes Specialist. “Their craftsmanship, their well-designed floorplans, and their finishes are just top-notch.  My buyers are sophisticated and know what they want, and they like what they see when they step into a Traton home.

“Also, the company is always very careful when selecting the right location for their next new home community. Traton finds great parcels, and builds its homes on good sites. Furthermore, the team knows the importance of good area schools, shopping and easy access to Atlanta’s major traffic arteries,” she notes. “Great locations are a hallmark for this builder.

“Over the years, I have found that homes by Traton almost sell themselves – and then, when homeowners are moving, they are also easy to re-sell,” notes Carole. “I am happy to share that homeowners often realize a higher resale value for their Traton-built home – I love using that fact as a major reason to buy a Traton home.”

Carole notes that from her professional experience, Traton has been a great partner to work with. “They have a great team in place that has been with the company a long time. Everyone I deal with is very responsive and gets back to you within 24 hours. They do their utmost to make the buying process very easy for my clients – and that makes my job so much easier too.”

Since she works with a lot of relocation clients who may not yet know much about the different areas throughout North Atlanta, Carole likes to steer them to a Traton neighborhood. “Traton creates beautiful, safe and welcoming neighborhoods, and when they add amenities, they are always done well and with style.

“I love how Traton has evolved over the last 46 years since they first started in 1971. They embrace and incorporate new trends and build for today’s and tomorrow’s buyers,” she says. “Their innovative floorplans, fresh color choices and selection of premier appliances really set them apart among Atlanta’s homebuilders.”

Traton Homes has more than 46 years of homebuilding experience, and the company’s expertise shows in the homes’ beautiful finishes, elegant yet functional floorplans, and the company’s superb customer service and attention to detail.
